Is Rich Dad Poor Dad a good book? Review

I wanted to read some books on finance, especially personal finance. And as mentioned on this cover, Rich Dad Poor Dad has been the #1 Personal Finance Book for 20 years. And, so my obvious first choice was Rich Dad Poor Dad.

But first, let’s get a rough idea of what the book is about?

Robert Kiyosakis’ Rich Dad Poor Dad is the beginners’ guide on learning how anyone should gain financial freedom. It is the basic guide on how you should plan your personal finance. This book will make you aware and educate you on the topic of personal finance.

So if you want to secure your financial future? And if you are looking for from where to start?

Then, this book is for you.

It will give you insight into what things you should consider when you are thinking about financial planning. And, as well the importance of financial planning.

So the main question: Who is this book for?

When the subject is Personal Finance everyone must know about it. Or at least be aware of it. This book is not just for people in business or finance, it is for everybody. So, it doesn’t matter who you are or in what field you are working or planning to work in, the moment you start thinking about your future or planning it, you should read this book.

“Rich Dad Poor Dad is a starting point for anyone looking to gain control of their financial future.”

USA Today

I also felt that this was true.

So what exactly will you learn from this book?

It is a guide to help you learn how to spend money and save money, invest it and live a debt-free lifestyle. Kiyosaki also answers which is probably the most popular financial question: “How do I get rich?”

And what is this thing about the title?

The title, Rich Dad Poor Dad, I feel it is a marketing strategy to grab your attention. Though, in the initial chapters, Robert does focus on both Rich Dad and Poor Dad, their financial plannings, and their different financial perspectives. But, the entire book doesn’t revolve around this topic. It is focused on the subject of finance and its planning.

Why we personally recommend it to everybody?

Personal Finance is a highly ignored subject even though it is the most important subject you must be aware of if you want to be rich and successful. This subject is mostly not taught in schools or while growing up and thus in later stages also remains ignored. According to the article in SpringerOpen, the concluding remark of their research was, “The lack of financial literacy, even in some of the world’s most well-developed financial markets, is of acute concern and needs immediate attention.” And so, if you are a beginner, then you can surely pick up this book to make yourself aware of this topic.

If you are a parent, you can give this book to your kids to help them understand personal finance. If you want a gift for your friend or anyone, you can surely gift them this book. It will surely be useful to them.
