Tokyo Ghoul Book Review

Tokyo Ghoul is a fantastical and fast-paced manga series set in Tokyo that is dangerous for humans. In the world of Ghouls enters the innocent Kaneki Ken, who has to deal with his new powers and the politics of the city’s hidden world.

The first book’s cover shows Kaneki himself sitting in a relaxed posture. The art style of the cover is done in watercolor and is beautiful. The covers of the subsequent books have different characters drawn in vibrant colors that bring out their personalities. The drawing is against a solid background that highlights the vibrancy of the cover.

Tokyo Ghoul is a manga that I read at the start of my manga-reading journey. I had read some books before this, but they never hooked me like this one. It was fast-paced with a complex background that never stopped growing. The more I read, the more I became engulfed in the series. Tokyo Ghoul is a perfect series for binge-reading; the action rarely dulls and brings every volume to an exciting conclusion. It had me reaching for the next book immediately.

The characters in this series stood out to me. Every single character had a backstory and a flushed personality. All the book’s characters have a purpose and story to tell. The side characters and Kaneki are really close to my heart. The villains in this manga are all very creepy.

Conclusion

Rating: 5/5

Recommendation: Absolutely recommend this manga series for its strong characters and complex plot. This is a must-read for every manga lover.
