A Song of Ice and Fire Series Review

How do I even explain my love and adoration for this book? Even though the series is incomplete, I don’t think it will ever be complete. But it still is so close to my heart, and I love this book. So, finally, continue reading the game of thrones book review to know more.

It’s beautiful to see some foreshadowing through the titles of each book in the series. The title gives the readers a view of what to expect from the series and that it is a game for the Throne.

George R.R. Martin’s writing is very detailed and easy to follow. He has written this book so well that I could feel all the tension the characters had and could easily envision the harsh surroundings. Every surrounding, every new location is so richly described that one can easily distinguish one from the other. In addition, Martin has told this story in a way that has made it unpredictable.

The thing that made this book series a massive hit is its characters. We are introduced to many characters, and not everyone is a good or bad guy. The way Martin has written the characters is phenomenal. They were merciless, did what they had to to get what they wanted, and were evil and manipulative.

The beginning of the book is very slow. I can understand why the story would initially feel sluggish and dull. The world-building in this series is intricate and immersive. It is a complex epic fantasy with multi-layered world-building and history upon history, accompanied by character connections one witnesses throughout the book.

Since the series is incomplete, it would never get the conclusion it deserved. Instead, it was a perfect epic fantasy read with fantastic characters, intricate worldbuilding, lies, and politicking. Finally, continue reading the game of thrones book review to know more.

The first book in the epic A Song of Ice and Fire series follows Ned Stark and how things change for their family when King Robert visits the northern castle Winterfell to ask Ned Stark to be the Hand of the King. Ned agrees even though he knows it’s a suicide, and chaos ensues. Tricks, lies, and backstabbing pursue to be the next King. Yet, amidst it all, no one is safe; the Starks’ fate, allies, and enemies hang in the balance as each attempts to win the deadliest of conflicts: the game of throne

Mini-Review

I loved this book. In such a short while, the characters became so dear to me. The history that the author put into this book made it seem that it was an actual place rather than fiction. The characters are all manipulative in equal measure. No one is innocent, as innocents can’t survive in this harsh world.

Rating: 5 / 5

Recommendation: Absolutely, yes. This book will make you forget that you are reading and keep your heart beating erratically till the end.

The second book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series, the sequel picks up the story where A Game of Thrones leaves off. Two great leaders who held sway over an enforced age of peace are dead. Now, the peace they established is destroyed. Everywhere chaos ensues. Six factions struggle to control a divided land and the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms. It is a tale in which no one can be trusted.

This book would increase the stakes if possible after the first book. I loved it all – the backstabbing, the plotting, the deaths, the enemies, everything. If you liked the first book, then you’ll absolutely devour this one. Finally, continue reading the game of thrones book review to know more.

The third book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series continues the cycle of deceit and plotting. Currently, Joffrey sits on the Iron Throne, the uneasy ruler of The Seven Kingdoms. Meanwhile, the exiled queen, Daenerys, is making her way across a bloody continent. With the enemies rising and unrest in the kingdom, Joffrey thought that controlling the Iron Throne might take more work than maintaining the Iron Throne. But, as the future of the land hangs in the balance, no one will rest until the Seven Kingdoms have exploded in a veritable storm of swords…

Mini-Review

This book leveled up the fights, plotting, and deceit. You can’t decide who is loyal to whom and who is faking it. George R.R. Martin can make you feel connected even to enemies. It was unpredictable, and I loved it for it. It keeps me guessing the whole time.

Rating: 5 / 5

Recommendation: YES. This book will keep you guessing. Keep reading if you love intricate worldbuilding, plotting, and battle scenes. You’ll be surprised.

The Lannisters are in the power of the Iron Throne. The war in the Seven Kingdoms has burned itself out, but in its bitter aftermath, new conflicts spark to life. The Starks seek vengeance for the wrongdoings and their blood relation’s death. Against incest and fratricide, alchemy, and murder, victory will go to the men and women possessed of the coldest steel and hearts. Crows will fight over a dead man’s flesh and kill each other for his eyes.

Mini-Review

Even though I loved this book, I can’t say it was better than the last three. I think it is the weakest book in the series. The beginning was fantastic, but later, the story used a weird format which caused problems for many readers. Still, continue the books because they are absolutely worth your time. Finally, continue reading the game of thrones book review to know more.

Rating: 3 / 5

Recommendation: Yes. Though not as good as the other three, this book is still impressive in terms of plot.

In the aftermath of the bloody battle, the future of The Seven Kingdoms hangs in the balance. The quest for The Iron Throne still continues. In the east, Daenerys Targaryen, the last scion of House Targaryen, rules with her three dragons as queen of a city built on dust and death. From all corners, bitter conflicts reignite, and intimate betrayals are perpetrated. Those wanting to fight for the Throne will face seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Some will fail, while others will grow in the strength of darkness.

Mini-Review

This book was good but was missing the first three books greatness. Considering that it will be the last book we will ever get in this series, it disappointed many people with its dull setting. However, I will still recommend it to everyone who wants to get in touch with the characters they loved in the last books.

Rating: 3.5 / 5

Recommendation: Yes. Even though not the best one, it still has all the characters that made us first fall in love with the series.
