A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Trilogy Review

I can’t express how obsessed I am with this series. The entire series explores how to reveal one truth; one must uncover layers and layers of lies.

So the first thing that made me intrigued about this series is the title. Like how excellent is the title? In addition, the covers are unique. They depict all the threads and people Pippa has to go through to get to the end of the case and uncover its mystery. So both the title and cover are eye-catching and intriguing as to what to expect from the series.

The first book, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, starts with a bang. It is a fast-paced book filled with twists and turns. It succeeds in giving off authentic crime vibes. I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of murder mysteries and true crime stories.

The trilogy is written from Pippa’s POV. It also has a podcast element as we see how she records her interview with different suspects. The characters of Pippa and her friends are so well fletched out, and they continue to grow with each book. Seeing these characters who started as teenagers become adults was satisfying and heartwarming.

The book was fun to follow. It will keep one hooked till the very end. The audiobook is so great as it perfectly captures the podcast element. Unfortunately, the ending of the book is a little overwhelming. The book went dark fast. It lost the cozy factor it had going on in the first two books.

Despite the flaws, it was a perfect trilogy with great characters. Hence, I’m writing A good girls guide to murder review.

Mini-Review:

I absolutely adored the character of Pippa. Pippa meets Sal’s brother Ravi, and the friendship between these two is incredible. I loved what these two have. In addition, Pippa’s other school friends were supportive and always had each other’s back. The way the story unfolds is brilliant, and it keeps me hooked from the very first page.

The second book in A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is a fantastic sequel to the first book. Due to the events after Pip figured out the killer, Pip is not a detective anymore. With the help of Ravi, she releases a True crime podcast in which she discloses how she gets to the killer. The podcast has gone viral, and Pip insists that her detective days are behind her. But when someone she knows goes missing, she must break the promise and get back to investigating. Police are not ready to help Pip find Jamie; if they don’t look for Jamie, Pip will uncover more of her town’s dark secrets along the way… and this time, everyone is listening. But will she find him before it’s too late?

Mini-Review:

This book upped the stake. Everyone was under suspicion, and the mystery that the author continued to maintain throughout the book was admirable. Pip and Ravi grew so much in this book. Continue reading A good girls guide to murder review to see their relationship unfold.

Pip is still haunted by the way her last investigation ended. She is having trouble sleeping. She is about to head to college but leaving her nightmares behind is difficult. She’s used to online death threats in the wake of her viral true-crime podcast, but she can’t help noticing an anonymous person who keeps asking her: Who will look for you when you’re the one who disappears? Soon she realized that someone was following her and as usual the Police won’t take the threats seriously. As the deadly game plays out, Pip discovers that everything in her small town is coming full circle . . .and if she doesn’t find the answers, this time she will be the one who disappears. . .

Mini-Review:

This book made a complete transition from young Pip to adult Pip. The book gets dark fast as the story progresses. This book lost all the cozy vibes that were going on in the first two books, and I wished that the author didn’t make that choice. Still, the plot was fast as ever and engaging.

Rating: 3.5 / 5

Recommendation: Yes, only because you must read the conclusion and bid goodbye to Pip and Ravi.
