About the book:

Title: The Diary Of A Young Girl

Author: Anne Frank

Publisher: Bantam

Pages: 283

Goodreads rating: 4.18/5

I recommend this book to anyone who wants to start developing reading habits and asks me which book to read. You can start with this book. It will take you to 1942, with the Nazis occupying Holland. A thirteen-year-old Jewish girl and her family fled their home in Amsterdam and went into hiding. In her diary, Anne Frank recorded vivid impressions of her experiences during this period, and you will find it thoughtful, moving, and surprisingly humorous.

She was a historical figure and a tragic one. But to have to genuine connection with her, you need to read her words. It is a fascinating commentary on human courage and frailty and a compelling self-portrait of a sensitive and spirited young woman whose promise was tragically cut short.

Why should you read this book?

You should read this because this story needs to be told repeatedly, and it will break your heart. However, you should remember that it resonates worldwide, and this book can surely become your best friend forever.

My Gita by Devdutt Pattanaik

About the book:

Title: My Gita

Author: Devdutt Pattanaik

Publisher: Rupa Publications India

Pages: 256

Goodreads rating: 3.98/5

We all know that the Gita is about the conversation between Lord Krishna and Arjuna before the battle of Kurukshetra. In this book, Devdutt tried to explain the key moments in that conversation with examples and gave us his perspective to learn the best out of the Gita. He named his book My Gita to convey what qualities we can adopt from Lord Krishna and Arjuna in our lives rather than judging their decisions. His writing is very interesting as he puts scientific reasoning behind his statements. And I’m a big fan of his illustrations as they are the easiest way to study.

Why should you read this book?

It’s written very beautifully by Devdutt Pattanaik. And this is a great way to start your way in self-development and build a habit of mindful reading. This book can be your best friend and guide your way.

#10 Born a Crime by Trevor Noah

Born a Crime by Trevor Noah
Born a Crime by Trevor Noah

About the book:

Title: Born a Crime

Author: Trevor Noah

Publisher: Doubleday Canada

Pages: 289

Goodreads rating: 4.49/5

This is my favorite book. This book is a memoir of comedian Trevor Noah. I followed his comedy before he became the host of The Daily Show. He is an amazing comedian and a very witty and thoughtful person. But this memoir shows us his life’s journey and how he was born a crime with his white Swiss father and a black Xhosa mother at a time when such a union was punishable by five years in prison. I know this story is about Trevor and his struggles, but the real hero of his story is his mother, and how they support and give strength to each other is inspiring.

Why should you read this book?

This book is hilarious, heartbreaking, told through a sympathetic lens, and very inspiring. You can’t miss this book, and after you finish reading it, I’m sure it will become your best friend and teaches you a life lesson in the simplest ways.
