In Supernatural Academy: Year One, Maddison, the main character, does not know anything about her supernatural abilities and is thrown into the magical world. Can she survive this world? Further, she learns that no one can guess who she is. Is she a fey, vampire, shifter, demi-fey, or a magic user? Who is she? She has very unique abilities. And she is determined to find out who she is. It is a fascinating fantasy read.

Supernatural Academy: Year One Book Review

I came across this book while scrolling through Bookstagram (which, if you don’t know, is like Instagram for book lovers). The second I read the summary, I was hooked! And now, Jaymin Eve, the author, is officially on my “I must buy anything they write” list.

Okay, so here’s the lowdown: it’s a trilogy—yep, three books—and this is the first one. The second and third are, you guessed it, Year Two and Year Three. What really makes this book stand out? The supernatural squad in it! You’ve got fey, demi-fey, vampires, magic users, and my absolute favorite—shifters! But not just your standard wolves. Nope, we’re talking lions, bears, tigers, dragons… even rabbits! (How cool is that?)

The characters are just so well-written. You start feeling like you know them personally. I finished the book and was like, “Wait, where’s my invite to join these guys?” You really get pulled into their emotions and struggles.

But let’s talk about the plot—because it’s so good. It’s full of suspense and surprises, keeping you on your toes till the end. The world-building is absolutely stunning. It’s like you’re living in the story, seeing everything through the characters’ eyes. Sure, it starts off a bit slow, but once it picks up, it’s fast-paced and just… perfect.

And oh, the ending leaves you craving the next book. You literally can’t wait to dive into the next one!

If you’ve read Infernal Devices, The Mortal Instruments, or anything along those lines, you’re going to love this.

P.S.: This book is available on Kindle Unlimited. If you subscribe to it, you can read this book for free.
