Divergent Series Book Review
I am a fan of Young adult novels, and this is by far the most interesting one I have read.
Everything is perfectly harmonious with the book’s aesthetics and themes, from the cover to the title. The labels for all the books written in block letters show the characters’ journey throughout the books and as a series as a whole. From the bowl signifying the faction choices to the Combination of fire and water signifying an epic conclusion, the cover depicts brilliant graphics to match the equally strong storyline.
Every book paces itself with the story, which flows smoothly into its place. I was intrigued by the book’s easy language and flawless writing style. Roth explains things that always find a place in the story, just in the next moment. The fast-paced story, twists, and turns keep the readers on the edge of their seats.
Every character is more than they seem to be; another personality is always behind the mask. My favorite character from the book was the protagonist Tris. Her growth throughout the book is enormous. She goes from being a shy and weak girl to a mighty warrior capable of challenging societal norms and leading a rebellion to its success.
If I were to describe the ending of the series in one word, it would be ‘epic.’ All the suspense and thrill the series built throughout the three books came to a devastating end. There may be a debate about the conventional happy ending, which this book does not provide, but as a reader, I could ask for nothing more than the ending I received. It was perfect.

Why do we recommend this book?
An incredible opening to a mind-blowing story, the book gives us multiple memorable characters and provides the first insight into what it means to be divergent. One of my favorite scenes from the book was when the protagonist decided to be called Tris instead of Beatrice’s biological name. By all means, I found this act motivating as it depicts that she is ready to move on from the life she was given to the life she chose.

This book was an emotional roller-coaster. Confessions, sacrifices, betrayals, and so much more. This action-packed sequel to divergent had me biting my nails in anticipation.

This book was a little hard to comprehend than its predecessors. However, apart from the language, this book has one of the most surprising and heartbreaking endings. It is a final act of defiance, and nothing will go back to how it was.
