Book Review of Rework

Earlier this year, I wanted to read some books about the business genre. And that is when I came across this book, Rework, and it’s fascinating; hence, I’m writing the Rework book review.

Rework is a practical guide to making a business successful by scraping the old conventional ways of running it. In addition, it addresses and guides us on most of the to-dos of the companies – from hiring to competitors to almost everything.

Moreover, it is all about adapting modern and effective ways to make running a business less complicated. And, it indeed shows us a better, faster, and in some ways, minimalistic way to make a company successful.

“Workaholics aren’t heroes. They don’t save the day, they just use it up. The real hero is home because she figured out a faster way”

Jason Fried, Rework

Importantly, it is not some idealistic book where you won’t find a single point that can be implemented. On the contrary, it is a very actionable and practical guide.

Also, this book is written in a straightforward, easy-to-read language. Therefore, even a non-reader will find this book easy to understand.

“Whenever you can, swap “Let’s think about it” for “Let’s decide on it.” Commit to making decisions. Don’t wait for the perfect solution. Decide and move forward.”

Jason Fried, Rework

The examples mentioned in this book are also very relevant to the situations. Also, there are no unnecessary and irrelevant points discussed here.

“Working without a plan may seem scary. But blindly following a plan that has no relationship with reality is even scarier.”

Jason Fried, Rework

The authors are very clear about their idea of growth and how adopting modern business practices will make businesses grow faster. And the authors have been successful in conveying that through the book.

Similar books to Rework are Zero to One, The Lean Startup, and How to Win Friends and Influence People.
